Best Roofing Websites UK: What the Winners Actually Do (2026)

We analysed the roofing websites Google and Gemini surface across five UK cities. The winners share seven habits — here is the checklist, with real examples.

Roofing might be the trade where a good website matters most — jobs are high-value, distress-driven, and plagued by the "dodgy roofer" fear that makes homeowners research harder than for any comparable purchase. In our five-city study of which roofers Google and Gemini recommend, the websites that surfaced — DPR Roofing in Leeds, Windsor Roofing Solutions, Paul Charles Roofing, Cathcart Roofing and others — beat hundreds of competitors that exist online but never appear. Here is what separates them.

The checklist

1. Proof of work, organised. Before-and-after photos arranged by job type — re-roofs, flat roofs, repairs, chimneys — not a single scrolling gallery. A homeowner choosing between three quotes looks for evidence someone has done exactly their job before; so do the systems deciding which roofer to show them.

2. The anti-cowboy arsenal. Named owner, years trading, address, insurance, and guarantees stated plainly. "How to spot a dodgy roofer" is literally one of Google's People-Also-Ask questions for roofing searches — the winning sites answer the fear directly instead of hoping a nice design papers over it.

3. Accreditations that verify. NFRC membership, TrustMark, manufacturer certifications — displayed on the site AND consistent with the business's profiles, so a machine checking the claim finds it confirmed rather than asserted.

4. Reviews with volume and recency. Every roofer in our study's local packs carried a strong, current review profile against an exactly matching business name. The site's job is to display them and keep the name consistent so they count.

5. Storm-response framing done honestly. Emergency repair capability, clearly stated response times, and hours that match the Google profile. Roofing demand spikes with weather; the sites that surface in those spikes had the emergency page built before the storm, not after.

6. Per-area pages. "Roofer in [town]" searches carry the intent; a genuine page per covered town captures it. The roofers appearing across our five cities each resolved to a specific, local, verifiable operation — never a vague national footprint.

7. Schema and answer-formatted content. Flat roof replacement cost, how long a tile roof lasts, whether insurance covers storm damage — answered on-page in plain language, marked up with FAQPage and Service schema. This is what gets a roofing site into AI Overviews and assistant answers, where an increasing share of these decisions now starts.
